Mission Vision Values
The Mission of Esteem Counseling LLC is to re-present mental health to black, indigenous, people of color or any individual that was raised in a culture that discouraged participation in mental health treatment.

The Vision for Esteem Counseling, LLC is to be a safe space for anyone of any ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, philosophy, social or economic status to receive support in a stable, emotionally safe space where they are accepted, validated, and welcomed to share their truth, receive guidance, hear feedback with love and dignity, express passion, develop independence, interdependence, self-awareness and self-responsibility, find purpose, celebrate accomplishments, and set challenging goals to accomplish what matters most to them in life.
What to Expect During Visits
During the Intake Appointment, I will briefly introduce my clinical experience and discuss the reasons that prompted you to begin therapy at this time. I'll ask you to describe your desired outcomes so that I can guide you effectively. We'll identify who is part of your support system and any potential challenges, past traumas, or behavioral patterns from your formative years that might impact our work together. If you're new to therapy, I'll explain how diagnoses are made, the purpose of the psychosocial questions I'll be asking, and the various assessments I'll administer to evaluate your current and future needs. This will also help in collaborating with other providers and making necessary referrals.
Follow-Up Visits can take many forms... however, they consistently prioritize YOUR PREFERENCE as the client. I engage in client-centered care by recognizing that you are the authority on YOURSELF. With that being said, some individuals prefer to steer the session by discussing the difficulties they are facing, while I listen, reflect, and assist them in problem-solving or discovering what lies within. Others appreciate it when I provide insights into the issues they've raised or those uncovered during an intake assessment, and we collaboratively examine how this new information affects them and identify strategies they can apply as they move forward to achieve their desired results.
